how do you put a hits tracker on a website?

i want to see how many people visit a website that i created. HOw do i put a counter on the home page? i used photoshopto create pages, and Dreamweaver to put the site together. thanks!

    It depends on a few questions…

    First, do you want a free one or paid inclusive one?
    Secondly, who is your hosting company. Many (most) will offer a counter and stats for free on their server. This will be your best best.
    Thridly, there are free ones out there if they (for some odd reason) don’t offer that to you..

    Do a Yahoo (or Google) search on “free website counters and stats”, and peruse the high number of sites that will offer that for free.

    You have a myriad of choices on this subject!

    go to http://statcounter.com they have a nice free webcounter that gives alot of information
