How do i get the traffic to my website other than search engines or from digg like sites.?
What are the other ways of getting the traffic? i think forum sites will also help in generating traffic..
and also i need a list of big general forum sites where we can post about anything. please help
of course the more places you can list / post your URL the better. However, until your site is in the top 20 or so of some of the major search engines you will never have very much traffic.

We get great traffic from Stumbleupon.com. If you are using a blog, Wordpress in particular, there are several plugins, which will add a “stumble” button to each post. This makes it easy for your readers to “vote” for your site.

I have placed a stumble link right below the title of the post. If someone thinks my post is good, they can vote for my post. Once I have been “stumbled,” the traffic starts to flow. I get about 200 to 500 unique visitors the first day and then the traffic cuts in half each following day.
Word of caution, you can only Stumble your site a couple of times before they won’t allow you to stumble your domain. So, it’s best to have your friends sign up for stumble and have them “Stumble” your site.
